Souls of the Chaos | Whack Blunters

armour | reduce damage by... | cost in coins

bucklers

(like shield, bin lid, small table) ..... ..... 7

blunters

dicey (like meatwrap, bits & pieces) ..... ..... 5

flimsy (like leathers, animal hide) ..... ..... 23

hefty (like breastplate, chainmail, splint) ..... ..... 62

pricey (like full suit armour + helm) ..... ..... 120

The bucklers modifier combines with those of other armours, and only applies if it’s being held, unless, say, it’s strapped on the back and you’re hit from behind. Bear in mind that hefty & pricey armour might slow you down & will make it hard to keep silent. To improvise the armour of any other items, the GM may apply 0-6 modifiers from dicey to pricey. So a heavy door, say, could have any damage it takes reduced by 2 or 3, or a stone wall would likely have damage reduced by as much as 5 or 6.

How weapons & armour affect damage & health...

Clashing weapons’ effectiveness with the robustness of armour, if you hit or are hit by something, the damage equals 1d6 ± your weapon modifier, and then that result is reduced based on what armour’s fitted, as well as any other factor that might be in play.

For example, damage from a hit with a longbow (+4) on a target wearing leathers (-2) would be 1d6 + 4...then - 2. The GM may adjust modifiers if the weapons or armour are damaged or improved, and may ask for condition or stress checks even if the hit damage ends up being 0.
