Ok, before we gear them up, let’s flesh out your character a bit. So before your character found themself here, maybe they’ve walked away from, or been kicked out of, a career that turned sour. If you like, roll 3d6 to see what that was, or choose or make up your own, fleshing it out.
3. Academic. Studying what? Too hard? Too boring?
4. Activist. Political? Social? What changed, or didn’t?
5. Baker. Got some skills, yep, but why the bread hate?
6. Child Performer / Celebrity. Jaded maybe, or forgotten?
7. Courier. Dumped or lost that vital package?
8. Ex-Convict. Framed? Escaped? Feeling the injustice?
9. Gambler. Ok, so who do you owe...and how much?
10. Grave Digger. You must’ve seen some sights, right?
11. Jester / Comic. Told one joke too many, eh?
12. Lookout. And well, what did you miss on that last job?
13. Midwife. Fired for something going wrong, perchance?
14. Military. Dishonourable discharge?
15. Pickpocket. What shouldn’t you have stolen?
16. Street Magician / Artist. Decent yep, but all just an act?
17. The Law. Low rank, but something went down, right?
18. Trader. Made a ‘killing’ but lost it, maybe?
Jot down on your sheet a few notes to flesh out your character. If this or something else was their failed career, what went wrong, and how did they find themself here? What’s their one big motivation right now that’s stemmed from this life-changing background? Try to weave this into your conversations in-game with your fellow character(s).
